G2Image CSS

Monday, June 4th, 2007

FYI - All the sudden like I’m tired of the old look of G2image module. So I’m going to try to work on styling it up over the next few days… My goal is to make it look and feel a little more like the wp backend. There is a lot of CSS in there and most of the real styling comes from WP but I’m going to see what I can do…

Lightbox Stuff

Been sanity testing tonight and I noticed something funky in regards to lightbox and wpg2 tags. (this may be totally unrelated to the recent changes but I think things are behaving differently as compared to a few days ago). During the lightbox testing session I test using both the internal lightbox scripts and an external one (mine…). I noticed that as soon as I turn on lightbox support for wpg2 tags the url that is generated is to the full size image (i.e. downloaditem). While this works fine with internal lightbox support becuase we can resize it using midsize images (which is way cool btw…), when using an external lightbox script it now displays the lightbox image as a massively huge image.

ozgreg - Is it easy to do a quick check after you turn on wpg2 lightbox tag support that checks to see if the user is using internal or external lightbox support? If lightbox=external then generate a url that points to the already generated midsized image instead of the full size image. If lightbox=internal than generate a link to the full size image and resize it per the option in the wpg2 lightbox tab. Catch my drift? I think this may be a better solution for the folks that want to use an external lightbox script.

Widget Stuff

I think pulling all the config options from the widgets is a good move but the only widget option we might was to give users is the option to name the block. (i.e. what is contained in the H2 tag) That is handy and allows users to personalize their stuff a little.

G2 Image

Everything looks good here so far, but I’m still testing some stuff… As you get closer to final code base for the 3.0 release, I would be happy to dig in a little and see if there is anything I can do to “pretty up” the G2image box and make it blend a little more with the wp look and feel.

Cheers Boys!

Lightbox Wierdness

So I have updated all the lightbox, prototype, and scriptaculous javascript libraries to the latest versions and all SHOULD be good but I’m having troubles getting the lightbox.js and effects.js to load on this site… It seems to work fine on my testbed however: http://www.test.marcnjami.com/. I will look into this as i think it may be a silly little thing…

This is a thumbnail generated by a WPG2 tag:  (EDIT: This works, but it brings up the thumbnail instead of the full-sized picture.)
